He left the Government Sector to join a Web 3.0 Start Up

Recently, Alex spoke at one of our Web 3.0 courses. His passion for emerging technologies was notable to everyone in the room. As my colleagues and I interacted with him further, we learned about his career switch after over a decade in the government sector.

Alex Teo is a firm believer in lifelong learning and learning-by-doing. He believes in disrupting his career before external forces disrupt it.

Alex's career journey has taken him from the government sector to tech/e-commerce and now to the cutting-edge realm of Web 3.0, showcases his curiosity and drive for innovation. His fascination with new technologies, such as AR/VR, smart contracts, and NFT coding, ignited his interest in Web 3.0. He recognized its potential for multifaceted collaboration with creators and its capability to enhance financial inclusion and cross-border payments.

Inspired by his mother, who is an educator, Alex is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experiences, while asking himself, "How can I be part of creating the future of the internet?" His commitment to education is evident in his participation as speaker for TechFin’s Web 3.0 courses, hosted by SMU Academy.

Now, as a Chief Operations Officer (COO) at Headquarters (HQ.xyz), Alex and his team strive to be the Business Account for the On-chain economy. Their mission is to equip Web 3.0 teams with the right tools to seamlessly manage their financial operations, ultimately aiming to be the central hub of the on-chain economy.
